Demi Lovato's ex-fiance, actor Max Ehrich (pic), was arrested in South Florida after cops say he violently launched at his mum earlier this week.

The 34-year-old actor was arrested in Florida and booked into St. Lucie County jail in the early hours of Wednesday, Oct. 8, PEOPLE confirmed. Ehrich was accused of domestic violence and arrested on one charge of battery on a person 65 years or older.

"I've never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all," Lovato continued. "You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself."

Although Lovato wrote that she was "honored to accept your hand in marriage" at the time, she and Ehrich ultimately called off their short-lived engagement two months.
